Frequently Asked Questions

For more information, feel free to contact us.

No. We teach everything during the safety briefing: paddle technique, commands, how to brace, what to do if you fall out. Our guides handle raft positioning and call all the shots. First-timers complete our trips every day.
Yes. Swimming ability is required for all our rafting options. You wear a life jacket throughout, but there are swimming sections and the possibility of falling in. If you’re not a confident swimmer, please contact us before booking so we can discuss options.
Yes. For families with younger kids, Family Rafting is the one, it runs the calmer stretch and takes children from age 5. Classic and Long Rafting suit ages 8 and up because of the rapids. Children must be able to swim and are always accompanied by an adult.
The Soča runs 8-12 degrees year-round, it’s Alpine snowmelt. Cold, yes, but the wetsuit we provide makes it comfortable. After the first splash, you adapt quickly.
Light rain doesn’t stop us, you’re getting wet anyway. For dangerous conditions (electrical storms, flood levels), we reschedule or refund fully. We monitor conditions constantly and prioritize safety.
Wear a swimsuit under the wetsuit, and shoes that can get wet, old sneakers or sandals with a heel strap, not flip-flops. We provide all the rest of the gear at our base. Bring dry clothes and a towel for after. Glasses can be secured with a strap, and contact lenses are fine.
Classic is the standard descent most people choose, and it runs every day. Long adds the upper stretch for anyone who wants more time on the water, but it only runs when levels are high enough. First time on the Soča? Go Classic.
Aktivni Planet was founded in 2001 by members of the Bober team, 6-time world rafting champions. That competitive background shaped our entire training program. Today our team includes guides from across the world, many with their own competitive achievements in kayaking and rafting, among them a current world champion. What they bring back from international races and rivers shows on the water.
It depends on the season, one of two locations in Bovec.
