Tandemski polet z jadralnim padalom nad steno Kanina v dolini Soče pri Bovcu

Paragliding

The Soca Valley looks different from a thousand metres up. The river shrinks to a bright emerald thread. The Julian Alps spread out in every direction. Your feet dangle over open air, and the only sound is wind. Tandem paragliding in Bovec takes you above it all for 20 to 45 minutes of flight, launching from wherever the wind is best that day: Kanin, Mangart, or Stol.

Your Flight Over the Soča Valley

You meet us in Bovec, and from there everything is taken care of. We drive you to the launch site, which changes depending on wind direction and weather. Some days you launch from the slopes of Kanin, the highest ski resort in Slovenia, with the Soca River curling below and Triglav visible in the distance. Other days, Mangart saddle offers views that stretch from the Julian Alps to the Adriatic Sea. On calmer afternoons, Stol provides smooth thermals and a gentle descent over the valley.

Before takeoff, your pilot walks you through everything: how the tandem harness works, how to position yourself during launch, what to expect once you are airborne. You do not need any experience. The pilot handles all of it. Your job is to run a few steps on launch and then sit back.

Once you are in the air, the world below gets quiet. You can see the emerald line of the Soca, the villages scattered across the valley floor, mountain ridges that disappear into the distance. Flights typically last 20 to 45 minutes depending on thermals and conditions. On the best days, with the right lift, you can stay up even longer.

A van meets you at the landing zone and brings you back to your starting point.

No. You fly with a certified pilot who handles takeoff, steering, and landing. Your only job is a few running steps on launch, then you settle into the seat and enjoy the view.
Less than you’d expect. The takeoff is gentle, and once airborne most people describe it as calm and peaceful rather than frightening. The pilot is in full control, so you can simply take in the view.
Yes, from age 10. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult, who does not need to fly. Minimum weight is 20 kg.
Paragliding is not recommended for people with heart conditions or for pregnant women, and passenger weight should be between 20 and 100 kg. If you have any health concerns or recent injuries, let us know before booking.
The launch site and the flight itself depend on the wind, so we confirm both on the day. A few clouds are no problem, but strong wind, thunderstorms, or poor visibility mean we postpone. If we cancel, we refund in full or find a new date. You can also cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your booking.
Yes. Bring a phone or camera with a wrist lanyard, since you’ll need both hands free during takeoff and landing. Once airborne there’s plenty of time for photos, and some pilots will film you themselves.
Absolutely. Paragliding in the morning and rafting the Soča in the afternoon is a popular combination. Tell us at booking that you’d like both and we’ll give you a discount. See our packages.
