Caving
After every winter snowmelt tries to find its way down the Kanin mountains. Dissolving limestone allows most water to flow directly down. Over ages cracks, tunnels and chambers have been carved turning our rock into ´Swiss Cheese´. Every year speleologists from all over the world visit Kanin to explore these caves. Usually they descend into crevasses starting at higher altitudes and return the same way, sometimes they find a way through the mountain exiting in the valley. Cavers get dirty.

At Aktivni Planet we want to take you inside giving you a healthy bite of their experience.

Mala Boka Caving

For all the fans of caving Bovec we offer a mysterious trip near the gigantic waterfall Boka. Hidden to sight, the entrance to the cave is known only to the people familiar of surroundings and it hides a real underground gem. After entering, a vast rocky chamber opens before us, which leads to numerous stalagmites and stalactites. The rocky halls are encased with hundreds of windows, which are pierced with sunlight and have lovely acoustics.

We can find plenty of surfaces for vertical climbing in Mala Boka. When we turn to even greater depths of the cave, a long platform opens in front of us and soon after that we arrive to a surprising small lake. In this fairy place, we indulge ourselves with a snack and after a while we return to the entrance.

Lost time 3 to 4 hours.
